Sara’s Cough Oil is safe for all ages. It has been used on someone as young as one year old. Although, even though Sara’s Oil is safe to use on all ages, children should not handle heated oil! An adult should handle the heated oil. THE MAIN THING IS TO MAKE SURE THAT SARA’S OIL IS NOT TOO HOT BEFORE APPLYING IT TO THE CHEST AND NECK AREAS! Before applying, use common sense to make sure that the oil is not too hot. If the oil is smoking, it is too hot! If the oil is not smoking, test the heat of the oil with a quick dab of your finger in the heated solution. If the temperature is comfortable to you, then apply it. If you plan on using the solution on an infant, use a child’s thermometer that is used in testing the temperature of bath water to determine if the solution is too hot for your child. DO NOT place oil solution on anybody if the temperature feels too hot!
How do I use Sara's Oil?
At bedtime, gently stir mixture with a spoon. Next, use the spoon to put enough mixture to cover the neck and chest areas in a microwave safe bowl. Slightly warm the mixture in a microwave. CAUTION: DO NOT PUT HOT OIL ON SKIN, IT WILL BURN! Using your hands apply the slightly warm oil to the front of the neck and all over the chest area. Place a dry hand towel on the chest and neck area. Wear a t-shirt and sweat shirt over the towel and go to sleep. The towel is used to help keep the chest area warm. Shower in the morning. Repeat this process as many times as necessary to help fight off coughs. WARNING: Shower floor may become slippery, please use caution! Be aware that oil will stain fabric so use a t- shirt, sweat shirt, towel or any other fabric that you do not mind being stained. Also, occasional allergic reaction to skin may occur.
